You take a urine sample. Everything you need is included in the OsteoTest | home package from osteolabs. A sample of morning urine is sufficient for the test. You can take the test at home in peace and send it to osteolabs in the prepared envelope together with the completed self-disclosure form.

Scientifically sound, medically confirmed
In cooperation with the Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital in Kiel, the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre, Prof. Dr. Eisenhauer, osteolabs GmbH in Kiel and the CRC Kiel research institute, several clinical studies have been carried out which have confirmed the reliability several times.
The test procedure
This procedure was developed in a 17-week study by NASA (J. Skulan et al 2007). Based on this, clinical studies were conducted with the Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital in Kiel (UKSH) and the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre. With a sensitivity of 100 %, all previously detected cases of osteoporosis were identified by means of calcium isotope markers (CIM), as expected.
Advantages of the OsteoTest procedure compared to imaging procedures
Osteoporosis only shows up on imaging (with X-rays) when it has already reached an advanced stage. Traditionally, osteoporosis is diagnosed with the help of an X-ray. However, this diagnostic method has limitations: Your doctor has to make an interpretation of the X-ray and, depending on the imaging, they may come to different conclusions. In addition, a single X-ray is usually not enough to make a diagnosis. Osteoporosis only shows up on X-rays when it has already reached a considerable stage, i.e. when an excessive amount of bone mass has already been lost and the bone looks porous.
